Bella Birch
Proprietor
Bella went to Sheffield Hallam University where she gained a 2.1 BSc in Business Management and a Postgraduate Masters Degree in Education. Bella started Owl Lodge Equine Livery after many years of experience as a professional throughout the equestrian industry and working in education. As well as being experienced in equine stable management and care, Bella has ridden her whole life. She competed ponies as a young child and moved onto horses aged 12. She has trained and competed in both dressage and show jumping on several yards in the UK, in Holland and in Spain. Since working in education Bella has the knowledge and expertise to adapt her teaching to meet the individual needs of her students and she has the experience to teach adults, children and those with SEND needs. This has inspired her to make Owl Lodge Equine an inclusive yard, which is kind, respectful, and supportive of the needs of all the people and horses.

Our Story
Owl Lodge Equine Livery is located in an idyllic, secluded spot surrounded by acres of land, trees and wildlife. It provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for both horse and owner. There are two barn stable blocks, both with big brick stables, automatic, drinkers, lights, electrics and water supply. Safe all year round turnout is made possible with post and rail paddocks, automatic drinkers and an all weather area. There is something for everyone at Owl Lodge Equine. It boasts fabulous exercise facilities, including a 30m x 60m all weather floodlit arena, show jumps, fibre sand lunging pen, horse walker and good hacking routes. At Owl Lodge Equine we pride ourselves in being inclusive, kind, caring and supportive with over 60 years equine experience. At the heart of everything that we do is our passion for horses and our commitment to looking after our clients and their beloved animals. Thanks to our years of experience, excellent facilities and extreme dedication we are able to offer 5* accommodation and care. Owl Lodge Equine provides an all inclusive livery service that benefits both horse and rider. All facilities are included within the livery, as well as mucking out, full straw beds, ad-lib hay or haylage and morning and evening hard feeds. We also provide a worming programme, arrange vets, farriers and dentists etc. Our clients have the added assurance of their horse's welfare, safety and security, knowing that we live on site, allowing for night time checks and 24 hour care. At the heart of training is our passion for education and our commitment to our clients and their horses. Bella has been able to combine years of equestrian experience and her teaching qualifications to better train people of all ages and offer unique teaching techniques, to enable both horse and rider to acheive their goals. She strongly believes in perfecting the basics and when training horses she is passionate about flat work, enabling horses to carry themselves through balance and rhymical paces. FULLY RENOVATED
Over the last couple of months Owl Lodge Equine has been under a full renovation, with new concrete paths, turnout, new roofing, hedging etc.. Renovations and maintenence will be ongoning but with the main works almost complete, the yard and atmosphere is looking and feeling amazing! 😊
